A good day, mostly

My day started very early. I have been having killer headaches again. I couldn't get to bed until after 3 and Willow woke up this morning at 5 am. So with a killer headache and a bright and early riser my day started. Well around 8 this is how Willow was found...

So after putting her down for a nap, I snuck in a nap too. WAHOO! That is always great. Serenity hung out with her daddy for a bit. The boys got to go to their friends house today, which is great because the friends are the ones who moved to Tennessee in June. The kids are their best friends.

And then Serneity, Willow and I went to my friend's baby shower. Serenity loved it because she felt very grown up getting to come with Mommy to the baby shower. My friend Alix is finally adopting her sweet baby girl from China. She has been waiting 5 very long years. So I am so happy for her. And now Willow will have a little play mate who is only 2 months younger than her. And we have a real life friend using cloth diapers. Which is so cool.

When we got home from the shower, Willow took a very short nap, about par for the course lately, and then we went grocery shopping. I don't mind the grocery shopping part, but I hate putting groceries away. I can never find space for anything. My house is just way too small. Then after putting the groceries away, I cleaned the kitchen while feeding Willow dinner, and Serenity her dinner. She was so excited that I let her eat dinner in the living room. Then I got Willow into bed and made myself some semi homemade chinesse food and Jimmy some homemade fetticine alfredo. He loves it when I make that. He says it is good and beats Olive Garden. Personally I don't like alfredo sauce so I have to take his word for it.

With a come and go headace, it was a good day. I know pretty boring in blog world, but a good day here. :)

healthy granola

Healthy Granola Bars Granola bars a huge hit in The Spring Mount 6 Pack house. All my kids love them, even Anthony who is such a picky eater. This is a great way to make granola bars without all the sugar and additives. They are a snack you can feel good about giving your kids.
1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 Tbsp. honey 1/2 cup. natural peanut butter (or natural almond butter - it's great both ways) 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 egg 1 1/3 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 3/4 cup rice crispies 1 3/4 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup coconut Mix 1st 6 ingredients together. Mix dry ingredients together, except the chocolate, coconut. Add to wet mixture, fold in the remaining ingredients, then turn into an 11x15 greased pan and bake @ 350 for 20 minutes or so. It is best to cut them while warm. Adding pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds instead of almonds adds a nice variety. Adding raisins or dried cranberries will give you an oatmeal raisin type of granola bar, but you should add about a teaspoon or so of cinnamon! Enjoy.

Fuji for families

Seriously what could be more beautiful than that. That is the picture people think of when they think of Fiji. But there is so much more. Really, it is a great destination for the whole family.
Fiji offers many family resorts for kids, resorts that feature romance and back packing.
The islands are nothing less than paradise. The beautiful white sandy beaches, coconut trees swaying in the breeze, and clear blue pristine oceans keeps anyone looking for a relaxing vacation longing for the time to last forever. Try staying in the Coral Coast Fiji, for an amazing experience.

If you are looking for a more adventurous experience, try white water rafting or back packing. Hike through the rainforest, into a native tribe to see what they have to offer. There you can see native making traditional garments using eco-friendly items. Also see the beautiful animals in the wild that most people only see on TV or in the zoo.

Compare hotels to find your best choices to make your dreams of a family vacation in Fiji a reality.

The last touches before my Halloween party

Guest post written by Fiona Jackson

I really love throwing holiday themed parties. It's just so much fun to do it and I think that my friends and neighbors know to count on me for a good party every now and then. I decided to throw a Halloween party about a month ago and am getting ready to throw it this Friday night. I've been doing so much planning for it, but I almost enjoy the planning and the decorating even more than the actual party. So I really can't complain.

Besides, if the party ends up being really fun in the end, then it's all worth it. I've foudn so many ideas for DIY decorations online with mywireless internet Midland. I've been having my family help make some of the more fun decorations and I think it's made them even more excited about it.

I had my son work on a Halloween banner to hang on our porch so that all of our guests will see it hanging and be assured that they're at the right house. He's really creative, so he did a great job on making it look appropriately creepy.
